You may or may not have heard that earlier this year, Google announced that ‘mobile friendliness’ will now affect your site rank.

Previous algorithm updates have had some effect, Penguin affected around 4% of all searches, and Panda affected around 12%, however this is likely to be on a much greater scale.

In a nutshell, Google will start to reward sites with a good mobile experience. It’s fair enough really, as mobile now contributes such as high level of traffic, that Google is just trying to ensure that the sites that it send people to are properly optimised.
